About The Role

We are looking for a full-time experienced Planner to join our Planning Team (and would consider a Senior Planner or someone who is ready to advance to Senior Planner level).  The team continues to be engaged in a diverse and award-winning range of developments, of varying sizes and complexities, and across different sectors including: Residential; Masterplanning; Healthcare; Defence; Commercial; Stadia/Events; Film Studios; Transport; and Energy.

Reporting to the Planning Director, the Planner will provide town planning consultancy services to clients in both the private and public sectors, advising on planning strategy and associated consenting requirements for development projects and potential opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Principle responsibilities will include:

  • Communicating and presenting advice and ideas clearly and succinctly in both written and verbal forms.
  • Preparing planning strategies and co-ordinating accordingly with clients and project teams.
  • Managing, submitting and negotiating planning applications and appeals through all relevant stages.
  • Managing, submitting and negotiating representations through all relevant stages.
  • Preparation of Planning Statements and associated appraisals and advice documents.
  • Maintaining a good understanding of the changing legislative, policy and guidance landscape.
  • Have a good understanding of key technical and design advice in order to engage with technical consultants.

Skills and Experience

Candidates will be considered from both the public and private sectors but must be RTPI-accredited, with at least 5 years post-accreditation experience, with a proven track-record of providing planning consultancy services or advice to a variety of Major developments. Experience and confidence in verbal and written communication is essential, as well as experience of dealing directly with clients, Local Authority officers, consultants and the public. The candidate should also be comfortable with being a main client contact and project-runner with minimal supervision, as and when required. A current clean driving licence is essential.
