CO-OP CHILLED LOGISTICS FACILITY, INVERNESS

Keppie was appointed to develop the bespoke 12,000sqft chill logistics facility on behalf of the Co-op at Inverness Airport
Business Park (IABP). Liaising directly with the Co-op’s logistics and facilities teams , we developed the brief and design detail for the new purpose built cross dock logistics facility to enable the Co-op to continue to service stores in the Highlands region. Sixty-five stores will be serviced by this depot, they are situated in locations not viably possible to be reached by the main depot in Newhouse, Motherwell, within permitted driving hours, therefore an “outbase” is required to enable orders to be transported and transhipped for onward store delivery.

The steel portal framed, storage and distribution warehouse has supporting office accommodation with staff/customer parking, parking for HGVs, vehicle wash-bay, dual access fuel tank facility and a weighbridge within the yard area. Externally, the material colour palette selected reflects the Co-op’s corporate branding providing a high quality facility, an addition to the Co-op’s estate and the first development to be located at the new IABP.
