Central Exchange
announced as ‘Commercial Development of the Year’ at the Property
Week Scottish Property Awards
Central Exchange took the ‘Commercial Development of the Year’
award at the Property Week Scottish Property Awards. The awards, which
were held at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre on Thursday
9th June, recognised the professionalism, individuality and flair of the
property industry in Scotland. A panel of 60 senior people from the Scottish
property industry judged each of the 14 awards presented at the ceremony.
Keppie and Keppie Interior Design were part of the project team
for this £30 million commercial development, working on behalf of
client CALA Properties Limited. Central Exchange, recently renamed Clydesdale
Bank Exchange, is a striking new Grade A office building located in the
heart of Glasgow’s traditional central business district and the
city’s new International Financial Services District. Arranged over
9 levels, the completed building provides 96,457 sq ft of flexible office
space with basement car parking. A close working relationship between
Keppie’s architects and interior designers provided unity to the
external and internal building design, which has helped to deliver a contemporary
building that is sympathetic to its surroundings.
Mark Gilluley, CALA Properties Limited commented:
“I would like to thank Keppie and Keppie Interior Design
for their professional and innovative approach to Central Exchange. This
project was a true team effort all round and this award acknowledges the
work of the entire Central Exchange project team. It has been one of the
most successful, speculative, pre funded commercial property projects
in the city in recent years with two major occupiers, The Clydesdale Bank
and Actuaries Hymans Robertson secured as high profile tenants, with interest
remaining strong in the remaining floors.” |
