Keppie is pleased to announce the completion of the £7.5m
former Jute Mill conversion in Dundee into a contemporary workspace for
the city’s creative media industry. Originally Seabraes Mill, the
building has been renamed Vision and will create 13 suites providing a
modern dynamic business environment for this creative sector.
European and private funding helped deliver the necessary and environmental
improvement work to open up this 20-acre brownfield site, a former railway
goods yard. The redevelopment and extension of Seabraes Mill by P4 Property
(Holdings) Ltd., is the first building in the new Digital Media Park,
and the wider Seabraes Yard project will help raise Dundee’s reputation
as an international centre for excellence.
This is the biggest development in Dundee in recent years and is seen
as providing an important symbol between history and the future. The jagged
edge roof shape of its original is preserved, an external elevational
treatment has been added and new planes of stainless steel reflect light
and change colour depending on viewpoint. |
