Health & Wellbeing
70 Health facilities, £3billion worth of projects, 60 Years working with the NHS, Over 6 thousand bedspaces
In the 21st Century we look on Health & Wellbeing more holistically, extending our design expertise from interventional specialist hospitals towards community health, preventative care and the design of workplaces that promote healthy living.
The evolution of the Keppie practice over the last 150 years has involved us in three periods of healthcare design. Understanding the past and the prevailing social, technological and economic factors, has allowed us to place our own time in context and understand how future trends might affect what we design today. We were designing healthcare facilities before the NHS was founded and in more than 60 years of working with the NHS, we have always been at the forefront of design innovation for healthcare facilities.
Our established and well documented concerns for patient environment, technological change, innovation and whole life value for money has blended well with developing procurement models worldwide. Major medical advances have transformed the way we think about disease and the facilities needed to treat it. At Keppie, we have always taken a more holistic approach to design for health and wellbeing, encompassing everything from interventional specialist hospitals to community health, preventative care and the design of workplaces that promote healthy living.
