Mike joined Keppie in 2004 as part of the team employed for the opening of its Inverness office. A background in architecture and project management was an ideal platform for taking greater responsibility for project delivery and local office management. Mike was promoted to Associate in 2006, Divisional Director in 2007 and now manages a workload across all market sectors.

Mike trained in Architectural Technology at Inverness College and then progressed to a Project Management degree at Aberdeen University, graduating with an MSC in 1999. Throughout his further/higher education and since graduating he has worked in both architecture and civil engineering practices delivering design and management services. Mike’s extensive technical knowledge and pragmatic approach to problem solving continues to bring tangible benefits to Keppie and its Clients through the administration and management of the design process.

Since joining Keppie, Mike has played a significant role in managing the design process of the Highland Schools PPP2 programme through the implementation phase of five primary schools, a specialised school for those requiring additional support and a multi-agency centre for the education, health and social care professionals providing the support. Continuing to build the Keppie presence in the Highlands and reacting to continually shifting markets, the Kingsmills Hotel in Inverness, is an example of another significant project where Mike was lead consultant for the redevelopment and expansion of this prestigious private hotel.

Mike says:

“The Keppie culture has provided me with the freedom to operate at the level of my choosing, taking as much responsibility as I wish whilst always being supported. This is an environment that truly allows individuals to be the best they can be. It is thoroughly rewarding to work in this environment and to play a part in developing the talents of others.”
