Jon joined Keppie Design in 2008 to head up the practice’s growing Landscape Architecture division. He has worked in Scotland since 1986 running the Glasgow office of a large Northern Ireland based design practice from 1997 to 2008.
A Chartered Landscape Architect Jon is experienced in managing complex projects and has a broad range of experience from small-scale environmental improvements through to vast land renewal schemes and high quality townscape improvements. Committed to an inclusive design process Jon has also been involved in schemes requiring extensive community participation and consultation. Skilled in the preparation of feasibility studies he has also contributed to and coordinated Environmental Statements. His expertise in visual impact assessment through the use of computer modelling has led to appearances as an expert witness at public inquiries.
Jon has experience of working with many different disciplines on a number of complicated sites. He brings humour and common sense to each project together with a strong will to solve problems that may arise. Through working extensively in multi disciplinary organisations Jon has the rare ability to understand the context within which each professional works without treading on toes.
Jon also project manages larger streetscape schemes and framework commissions. He has also been involved with the Landscape Institute in Scotland standing as Chairman for four years, in Disability Scotland’s Urban Access Group and the Landscape Practices Group as a representative of the Landscape Institute.
