Gordon MacCallum : Director

Gordon joined Keppie in 1999 after twenty one years of service in local government, including time in Hamilton District, Strathclyde Regional Council, Monklands District Council and latterly in North Lanarkshire Council where he was a Team Leader in the Forward Planning section.  He was appointed as a Director of Keppie in 2001.

He trained at Glasgow School of Art, graduating in 1978 with a Degree in Town & Country Planning.  He was chartered as a Town Planner in 1980. Since graduating, he has built up an unique experience of land use and site knowledge and is particularly familiar with residential land issues throughout Scotland.  He was an advisor on the National Derelict Land Group, chaired the Glasgow & Clyde Valley Housing Group and acted for Clients or local authorities in over three hundred planning appeals across Scotland.

Since 2001, the practice has grown a wider expertise and knowledge base to provide a quality service in all aspects of town and country planning and development.  Gordon has built strong relationships with a large number of developer and house-builder Clients who consistently seek advice on site specific opportunities, appraisals, promotion and prospects.

Since joining Keppie he has been involved in a wide range of multi-disciplinary projects covering planning policy, housing release, retail, leisure and industrial strategies and surveys, redevelopment projects, environmental assessments, land searches and site evaluations including renewables comprising biomass plants and on-shore wind farm sites.  His advice on planning matters is regularly sought by the development industry and government agencies.
