Fraser joined Keppie as an Interior Designer in 1988. He became an Associate in 1998 and three years later set up Keppie Interior Design. Since then, he has developed a distinctive and autonomous profile for that specialist division. He is a passionate ambassador for Keppie’s people focused approach, with the quality of our interior environments at the core of it.  He was appointed a Main Board Director in 2004.

Fraser trained at Glasgow College of Building and Printing from 1982-1986. He gained Diploma in Interior Design and later gained a Degree in Hotel Design and Planning at Cornell University.  Fraser became a Member of The Chartered Society of Designers in 1995.  Fraser believes that a designer’s education is never ending and that creative influence comes from everyday experiences, objects and activities.

Among his particular strengths are concept design development, space planning and design mentoring. He has built a diversely skilled team around him to pursue very particular qualitative goals, drawing on the team member’s individual characters, skills and internationality to positively influence the analysis and exploration of ideas. Being team minded, he insists that everyone within the group is multi skilled and that everyone contributes to the design process. Avoiding market specialisation has been intentional as Fraser seeks to ensure that every team member develops their skills through the most diverse professional experiences and that the team enjoy variety in their work.  Throughout the work of his team he encourages the most thorough pursuit of quality through space, light and material. In tandem with these goals Fraser insists on the highest quality of communication, believing that good dialogue is the foundation of excellent design.

Fraser says:

“I firmly believe in the team; a ‘no superstars’ approach, preferring our skilled designers to grow through real experiences and the sharing of knowledge. While I consider myself experienced, I am continually impressed by the diverse talents this team has.”
