Andrew has contributed to Keppie in a wide range of positions and roles throughout his professional life.   With over three decades of experience as an architect and in a varied career spanning both construction and IT sectors, he has accumulated a unique combination of architectural design, project management and business consultancy experience.  He has been a Director since 2002.

Andrew first worked for Keppie as a student in the early 1970’s and as his career developed he took on project architect roles in major public sector projects including the Glasgow Sheriff Courts.  At that time he was also responsible for introducing the first computer aided design installation in a Scottish architectural practice.  He moved on to become construction industry specialist at IBM with responsibility for researching and analysing the IT requirements of architecture, engineering and property markets throughout Europe.  Andrew later served as Director of the Centre for the Built Environment, an initiative aimed at strengthening the links between the construction sector and academic community in the West of Scotland.

Andrew maintains a broad awareness of issues affecting the design and construction industry in Scotland.  He is currently a member of the Scottish Construction Forum and serves as a Board Member of Architecture + Design Scotland.

Andrew’s exposure to different industries and types of organisation has meant that his responsibilities as a Director are now more focussed on business management issues rather than design projects.   His current activities relate specifically to international opportunities in the Middle East where he is managing the establishment of a Keppie office in Qatar.

Andrew says:

“I am privileged to have played a part in the success of one of Scotland’s most significant design practices and am excited by the next phase in Keppie’s evolution as it strives to deliver solutions that enhance peoples lives in challenging international markets.”
