Colin joined Keppie in 1995 as Financial Director.  He brought with him a thorough understanding of business gleaned from a varied professional and entrepreneurial background.  He established a talented team around him driving Keppie to operate as an efficient modern business.  Colin is as calm and assured in all business matters as he is skippering his yacht, even when everything appears to be otherwise around him.

Colin studied at Edinburgh University, qualifying as Bachelor of Law in 1974 and went on to qualify as a Chartered Accountant.  He amassed ten years senior management experience in publishing and media related businesses in London and European bases, before setting up his own publishing business specialising in the production of reference guides and resource materials for the education market.

Colin returned to live in Scotland in 1995 and joined Keppie initially as a consultant.  Over the years he has become progressively more involved and has been central to the controlled growth and strong financial management of the company.

The Keppie Board appointed Colin Chairman in 2009.  He is responsible for the practice’s financial management and performance which includes ensuring that each location, strand and discipline works efficiently and profitably whilst delivering the qualitative standards expected of Keppie.  He works closely with the Managing Director leading the practice through their contrasting skills and personalities as a strong partnership.

Colin says:
