Alan qualified as an architect in 1994 joining Keppie in 2007.  He has worked at all scales from small building design studies, through to the major master planning exercises both within Scotland and internationally.  As associate responsible for SEPA’s new HQ in Aberdeen, Alan has built on Keppie’s reputation for sustainable design, extending this through his most recent project, a master plan for a sustainable community of 1600 homes in East Lothian.

Alan actually quite enjoys architecture, graphic design, furniture design and art generally, extending to their study outside of practice.  What little time he has left over is currently spent in foiling his children’s plans to become lion tamers, French legionnaires, or ninja assassins.
