Charles was invited to join Keppie in 2001 as Director in charge of the Edinburgh office. His main interests are in urban regeneration, particularly mixed-use redevelopment.
Charles has a wide range of commercial design experience, having worked on direct commissions for BAA, Safeway, Sainsbury's, Homebase, B&Q and Marks & Spencer, among others.
He led a successful bid for the design of the award-winning headquarters for Scottish Natural Heritage, and was recently appointed by Marks & Spencer to assist with its UK modernisation and redevelopment programme.
Charles spends most of his free time travelling and sailing. He recently helped to raise £3500 for Macmillan Cancer Care by cycling from Edinburgh to Inverness (185 miles) in two days. back
